I volunteered as the photographer again for the 2009 Hope Parade. This year they decided to make this event more exciting and efficient, so the number of the participation teams was cut in half, only more well-prepared team was selected. However, due to the fame gained at the past two years, this year this event attracted a lot more crowd and more non-assigned photographers. They really made the parade hard to move along because everyone was pushing forward, and some photographers even not listening to the rule and occupying the route. After all this is another successful event, I think everyone who joined the parade had a really good time.

今年再度應邀擔任2009 世界夢想嘉年華的攝影義工。今年雖然因為主辦單位為了精簡遊行隊伍，而將參與隊伍數量減半，但是因為連續兩年舉辦而越來越知名，所以圍觀的群眾多了許多，再加上今年有個更大型的攝影比賽，也吸引了許多有興趣的攝影者，讓整個遊行變得秩序有點混亂，也有數位非工作人員的攝影者不但不聽勸（非工作人員是不可以進入遊行路線中的），還對我惡言相向，真是喧賓奪主，我和另一位同是工作人員的攝影者也只能傻眼以對了。幸好大致上尚稱秩序良好，所有參與的人員應該都有享受到這個歡慶的時刻吧。

↓The competition between the aboriginal Samba drum team is getting extreme, many teams put on their most eye-catching costume. This is the traditional T-back pants wear by the Tao tribe on the Lanyu Island. 今年各原住民的森巴鼓隊競爭越來越激烈，多數隊伍都穿上最具代表性的服飾，這組台東來的隊伍就以蘭嶼的丁字褲吸引眾人目光。

Thanks to my ex-coworker, I got a ticket to the rehearsal show for the opening of the 21th Summer Deaflympics in Taipei.

聽奧開幕，很幸運拿到彩排場的貴賓券，也克服了種種刁難，終於可以帶腳架進場拍攝。

攝影作品Dungeness Ruins登上華盛頓郵報2009.8.30的周日旅遊版。

This work won Excellent Piece Award in the World Games Photography Competition. 此作獲得世運攝影比賽佳作。

After shooting the World Games Grand Opening Ceremony, me and my friends decided to take pictures of the Closing Ceremony. A little differently, we went inside the stadium.

在主場館外面拍攝過高雄世運開幕煙火秀，我和上次那批攝影同好與老師們當場決定也要拍閉幕，只不過，這次要進場內，希望能夠拍到更精彩的畫面。因為開幕大受好評，閉幕的票變得非常搶手，很快就銷售一空，幸好後來主辦單位決定再釋出1000張票，我也很幸運地在開賣當天用7-11的ibon順利搶到票。

Before the Ceremony 晚會開始前，進場也是一片混亂，為了尋找最佳拍攝地點，奧林巴斯攝影學會的江老師和我換了好幾個地方，終於決定落腳在這個二樓西南邊最角落的地方。


Fireworks during the performance 這次煙火釋放更是無預警，也沒有最後在主場館上方的綜合煙火，總的來說並沒有開幕精彩。而主辦單位大肆宣傳的白晝煙火美則美矣，但是施放的位置在門口的列柱邊，因此我也無緣拍到，因為所有人都朝場內取景，沒人想到白晝煙火會在那個位置出現。




Special to the show: Sky lantern releasing, for wishing good luck. 特別的則是現場施放200個科技天燈，象徵祈福。


Fireworks with LED flashlights on the audiences' hands lighted up the stadium. 煙火與觀眾手上的LED燈所形成的星河相互輝映。我發現7/27聯合報頭版照片和這張極為相似，顯然該報記者當時也在我附近，手上有該份報紙的朋友不妨對照一下。

Bitan Summer Festival was held by Taipei County Government on July 18-19, 2009. The half-day event includes musical performance, outdoor movie, and most favorably, firework dramas. The firework drama is a brand new firework show that fireworks perform as every roles and scenes, accompanied with narration and music. The first show debuted last year was "The Cowherd and Weaver Girl" since the date was very close to Qixi Festival. It has won a huge praise and appreciation, so the authority added a new show this year, a Chinese romance story, "Butterfly Lovers". On the second one we actually see butterfly fireworks, which was very interesting.

碧潭水岸夏日節今年是第二次舉辦(7/18-19)，也擴大為兩天的活動。去年頗受好評的創意花火劇，今年不但又回來了，而且除了七夕應景的《牛郎織女》，今年更新增了《梁祝》，兩天看下來真是大呼過癮。這種以煙火為主，加上旁白與音樂的演出形式，的確讓人聲光享受面面俱到，非常震撼。在第一天的《梁祝》花火劇中，更不時出現令人驚奇的蝴蝶煙火，頗為有趣。

I am very proud that Taiwan will be hosting two major sports competitions this year: World Games and Deaflympics. World Games is hosted by Kaohsiung City and has started its schedule on July 16, 2009. As a southerner and a photographer, I am sure to take pictures about this magnificent event. Here are some firework shots from the Grand Opening Ceremony:

身為高雄人，當然要為這次的高雄世運做一點紀錄。開幕當晚的煙火秀，是本次世運的重點之一，當天一早我就搭捷運到世運主場館，也和台北下來的幾位奧林巴斯攝影學會的老師和同好們會合，選定好位置之後，我們就在水池前待了一天。比較辛苦的是下午斷斷續續下了幾場雨，幸好我們選到一棵還算茂密的小葉欖仁樹下來躲雨，雨最大的時候，也沒有淋得太溼，當然我們也不斷追加防雨措施，畢竟雨水是攝影器材的大敵。一天的辛苦總算有些代價，水池裡本來有噴泉，晚會開始之後就關閉了，讓我們得以拍攝清晰的倒影。

Went hiking to Yushan (Mt. Jade) Main Peak, the highest peak in Northeast Asia during July 1 - 3. It was a great challenge due to the dramatic climate difference since I haven't do this for many years. 19 years ago I tried the same route but we didn't reach the Main Peak due to heavy snow, so I was very excited about this trip.

Since the limit on the vacancy of Paiyun Lodge, the only place to stay in the mountains, each team need to participate in a lucky draw to get the ticket to the trip. I heard there are more than 1,000 teams waiting, so i think we are very lucky to win so soon.

Anyway it's a nice trip. The weather was fair, nobody got wet at all, (usually it will rain in the afternoon.) and everyone finished the trip including two children.

應允前同事的邀約，決定19年之後再度挑戰玉山，彌補當時因大雪冰封未登頂的遺憾，也藉此機會拍些照片。因玉山登山，住宿排雲山莊床位須抽籤，因此，等候一段時間之後，終於輪到我們上山了。據說，同時有一千多隊在抽，因此能抽到算幸運了。

我們抽到的是7/2住宿，行程安排則是7/1晚上住宿嘉義奮起湖大飯店，隔天一早再上玉山登山口出發。雖然我有跑步健身的習慣，但負重登山已經多年未嘗試，兩天下來雙腳的確負荷很大，肩膀、腰部也因負重有局部酸痛的情形，幸好兩三天就恢復了。

令人意外的是，平地是大熱天的氣候，到了排雲山莊只有7、8度的低溫，隔天清晨更遇上鋒面來襲，主峰頂因刮強風，氣溫更是降到零度左右，讓人直打哆嗦，連嚮導山鼠先生也撐不住，趕緊把我們趕下山。

因為是旅行社安排的行程，路程走得有些匆促，而我和前同事則各自沈溺於拍照，因此兩天都有些拖到隊伍的速度，下山時更是常受到押隊的山青嚮導小幸的催促，壓力很大。

完成攻頂，雖然很有成就感，但總覺得意猶未盡，走得太匆促，沒有太多時間好好拍照，下次有機會再來吧。

Gentiana scabrida 玉山龍膽


Ponerorchis kiraishiensis, little purple orchid growing on the slopes and in the bushes of the elevation of 3,000M 奇萊紅蘭/紅小蝶蘭，地生蘭，台灣特有種，生於海拔三千公尺以上之淺草坡或矮灌叢內，夏季開花。

Kodak has announced to terminate Kodachrome film's 74-year run on June 22, 2009. Traditional film is finally coming to its end.

柯達在昨(6/22)天宣佈終止Kodachrome軟片的生產作業，傳統底片的時代終於要結束了。

Datong Police Station, formerly Taipei Police Bureau during the Japanese Reign. Built in 1933, it is now one of Taipei City's Historic Buildings and will be transformed into Taiwan New Cultural Movement Museum.

今天去參加了大稻埕近代新文化運動史蹟導覽。建於1933年，日治時代原為台北警署的北警大同分局，即將改為台灣新文化運動紀念館。該建築三樓現已為後者展場，目前展出台灣歌謠作詞家李臨秋百年誕辰紀念特展。

不過，我比較感興趣的，當然是建築本身。
